About Me

I wish I had one of those wonderfully clever and cute stories about how my first camera started me on a journey but my story actually begins with the pictures– the ones in a box marked Spinneren in my grandparent’s attic. They had curled edges and smelled musty. They were blurry, grainy and wonderful. I still have every single one. The camera came second and was pink and turquoise with 110 film. I remember when send away film was the best thing to ever happen to me. Film goes out and photos appear in your mailbox?  That was magic. I remember all of those things from nearly twenty years ago and how they made me feel then- nostalgic and happy. The pictures in the box proved that putting something on film made it real and relivable forever.

Besides photography, I am also a teacher in Rhode Island and I have worked with thousands of children- I have learned what makes children tick and how to get the real smile out of them. My work with children is upbeat and relaxed with a combo of natural poses and candid moments. However, my work spans beyond children  and I’m always up for coming up with a unique pose or a fun location. I have lived in Cranston, Rhode Island my whole life so I know lots of little spots! I enjoy the thrill of knowing you can never fully predict what happens on the other side of the camera lens…and that’s what makes a photo great. I hope someday, someone’s grandchild discovers some old curled prints, worn over time and starts that circle all over again.
