Patrick and Delaney- Narragansett, RI Children's Portraits

Patrick and Delaney are two of the most lovely kids you will meet (which I attribute to both their personalities and their awesome parents, Bridget and Sean). They both had plenty of things to show me in their backyard and Patrick kept making sure his little sis was in on all the action. If I told them to stand with each other, Patrick had his arm out to welcome Delaney in for a hug and a kiss. It's great to see siblings that appreciate and enjoy each other so much. As the sun was sinking in the sky, we got some awesome "hair light" which gave a golden glow to their skin and I think you'll be able to tell which picture had the most apparent angelic glow. I hope we get to hang out again someday kiddos because I will certainly be seeing your mom soon at our favorite restaurant, Crazy Burger!

Anna's 6 Month Portraits- Cranston, RI Photography

The start of this session might have been the fastest I've ever worked-- rain was on the way. We could hear the thunder as we started to shoot so we did what we could and decided to call it a day. Bethany, Anna's mom, and her mom met me again the next day to work on the second half....which included my favorite dress. The polka dot. I couldn't get over how cute Anna was in that floppy hat! She rocked it! We also did some pictures that are going to be used as a present for someone, so while I can't show them here, I sure hope the recipient loves all the giggles and smiles Anna had to offer!

Babies, Babies, Babies- Cranston, RI Photography

I've been on a baby photo shoot kick! What's great about children's photography is that you always get to do one or more family shots and see the lovable interaction between a mom, dad and their child/children. No matter what, families are always willing to do whatever it takes to get their child to smile- whether it's silly faces, jumping up and down....you name it. I don't think anything is too strange, since I'm usually on the floor with them acting just as funny. Because I have been a little bit behind with the changing over of my website, I hope no one will mind a little slide show of my newest shoots (ps- it goes on to a second page so don't miss out on little Avery!) :)

Shea- Cranston, RI Portrait and Children's Photography

Shea- what a great little man. At 18 months, he is full of personality and owns a wide variety of hats. He really enjoyed the ducks, the swings, the beach, the boats...he smiled through it all even though it was his bedtime. At least Shea knows that we all must suffer a little for art, ha ha! As my friend Kate asked me, can we just take the curls off his head and paste them to our own? He has some of the most beautiful curls and big brown eyes I've ever seen! I hope he enjoyed his weekend on Block Island with his mom and dad, Marissa and Matt :) I look forward to our next shoot!

4th of July-- North Kingstown, RI and Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

Each year, Bryan and I are lucky enough to spend the 4th of July with the Caito's at their awesome beachfront property. It's a tradition and something we look forward to all spring long. I also look forward to SNARKing with Julie. I'm sad no one was able to get a picture of us "launching" the SNARK yesterday. Last year we capsized, but this year we were able to keep it right side up and have a successful sail.

I heart Faces- Let's Hear it for the Boys

Oooooh, my Jackson. I had this idea for a shaving session and luckily Jack's mom was on board with how I wanted to execute this....until life got in the way and we were behind schedule on all the big plans.  So, improvise we did. Me, the 5dmkii, 24-70, one flash, one stool and a lady's razor. End of story! I'll do a separate post of the rest too :)

The Doorley Family- Cranston, RI Family Portraits

I adore the Doorley Family. I have the pleasure of working with Kate and her mom is a former school teacher in our system. Her sister, mom to the adorable and wonderful Eva and Cameron, is also a teacher. They wanted to do a family photo shoot and we decided to do the photos downtown. I think it was a great location. The weather was perfect, their outfits were totally coordinated and we missed being caught in the middle of a marathon by just a few minutes! Talk about luck! We had a great time and their love for each other shows!

Henry- Cranston, RI Children and Family Portraits

Henry is my little buddy! I've gotten to do three shoots with him and his awesome mom and dad. Darlene and Seth are great parents- you can see how much joy there is in just spending time together. They have a relaxed demeanor and are happy to let Henry just be Henry for pictures. Seth is great as my photo assistant- he stood over my to give me a shadow since it was VERY sunny that day. Roger Williams Park is a favorite place of mine to shoot- there are so many different "types" of places and we took advantage of it all!

Gabriella- Cranston, RI Children's Photography and Portraits

Gabriella has the most beautiful eyes. I'm not sure she knew what to make of the photo shoot- she had just woken up from a nap and was content to just sit and giggle but after she got going, she was on a roll! By the time the cake came out, it was awesome to watch her expression. First she ate just a little bit to see if she wanted it, then a little more and finally, she just sat in it. AWESOME! Melissa, Mike and I had a great time and they are such a wonderful family. You can see the love between all of them, not only from the energy in the room but from the pictures as well :)

Jeremy- Cranston, RI Baby and Children Photography

Jeremy came in for a visit and got to be the first kiddo to try out my new bed that Weston made. Did I mention how fantastic my friends are at supporting my business? Although Jeremy was not having any of us trying to rock him, white noise machine him, giving extra bottles to get him to sleep, we were able to get a few really cute ones. Good thing Courtney is around all the time (she works for my husband at Atlantis Pool Service) and we can try for a few more sleepy poses whenever she wants.

I heart Faces- Motherhood

This week's I Heart Faces challenge is about motherhood in honor of all those hard working moms out there! This picture was taken of my best friend Kate and my godson (and favorite subject) Jackson. To me, motherhood is sharing in the joy and excitement of seeing something new through a child's eyes. Jackson was so excited about this acorn (there was a progression of pics before this- him running towards her, so thrilled to show mommy this awesome piece of nature) and to see Kate interact, she acted like this acorn was the most precious and important thing she had ever seen. That's motherhood- the molding of curiosity and joy in new found things.

The Simone Family! Cranston, RI Family Photography

Ken and Steph both work in the same district I do. In fact, Ken and I teach at the same school and so I get to hear lots of stories about Ken's kids. He always jokes that they are full of energy and I got to meet them and see that wonderful energy in person. Adam and Andrew were so excited to show off their karate moves, make silly faces and give me a few brotherly hugs. Even though the weather was cloudy, these two kiddos brought a lot of sunshine.

Cain and Regan- Cranston, RI Children's Photography

Cain and Regan are two babies that are on the move! They recently turned a year old and their mom, Courtney, and I had a tough time getting them in one spot together. Regan is the explorer- she wants to be checking out the lay of the land and Cain is more laid back in just taking in the scene from one spot. We did indoor photos and outdoor photos and just for fun put some bunny ears on them. I love when a parent is up for anything! Courtney also exudes calm. I give her so much credit for having twins and just rolling with it. She makes you think everyone in the world could do it!

Also, if you haven't already, head on over to my facebook and give me a like-- it will keep you up to date on all the sneak peeks and fun things going on!

Lawson and Cooper- Cranston, RI Children's Portrait Photography

Lawson and Cooper are two adorable brothers that made ME smile through the entire session-- Lawson sang to Cooper quite a bit and insisted on having "Coop" in almost all the pictures (although he did seem to enjoy a little Lawson-only-photo-time, especially when given some bubbles and a chance to run around). Now that the warmer weather is here, this is what I love- an opportunity to spend times with kids in an uninhibited way- running (Lawson challenged me to a race), laughing, having fun and eating candy. I gave Lawson a huge lollipop and unfortunately, it lost a part of it before we got pictures but I think it's fair to say he was content to eat what was left! And Cooper? He was content to take it all in and give us a few beautiful smiles. Thanks Jenn! It was a fun afternoon!

Baby Joey!

Joey is a sweet little bundle of happiness. He was mesmorized by the bubbles, loved laying on his tummy and really enjoyed chilling in a basket. I had a wonderful time taking his picture for the second time and a great time catching up with Missy and Joe. Missy and I went to high school together and thanks to the Facebook era, we have been able to get back in touch! Enjoy!

I can't wait to get to say:

Flashback Friday- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

So, maybe I should call this Flashback any-day-of-the-week. I seem to NOT have it down for a series specifically on a Friday. However, this week, it will feature my niece Molly, who celebrates her 4th birthday on the 16th! This was from her birthday last year. Bryan and I are excited to go to her birthday party next Sunday. Oh, and did I mention I couldn't pick a picture so they are several, including my G-Gma Hess. This is Bryan's grandmother whom I adore. She is so talented and knitted me a neck warmer this year for Christmas.

I included this blurry pic because this is SUCH A TODD LAUGH and I love it!
