M is Two- Cranston, RI Children's Photography, Rhode Island Photographer

M's mom made those adorable ladybug letters to go with the theme of her birthday party, but like any good toddler, M insisted the theme be changed to Doc McStuffins :) Well, at least all of mom's hard work resulted in an adorable little shoot with this little cutie. Her hair has the most delicate little curls and she loved my fake snow-- not that we've seen any in RI this December. You won't catch me complaining. It's allowed me to shoot outdoors much later than expected! Happy birthday, M! IMG_0420 IMG_0441 IMG_0505 IMG_0612 IMG_0655

The G Girls- North Kingstown, RI Portrait Photography

Julie's mom has a beautiful home in NK and I tell her that 4th of July almost beats Christmas because there is little I love more than sailing (capsizing) a boat down there. Julie wanted to do a late fall shoot there and the weather was very kind to us. The hour before sunset was beautiful with the sun setting perfectly as we wrapped up the session. It's an awesome thing to grow up with someone (Julie was the french horn player in back of me in marching band) and now see them as a mom. Being a mom is a role she fills effortlessly. I love the choices Julie had prints made of as well. Her house is always full of actual prints- a reminder to everyone that prints should live not the wall, not the computer. IMG_3684

The Q Family- Cranston, RI Portraits, Family Photographer

I shared a rug square with Emily on the first day of Kindergarten- I had to let that sink in since it was almost 30 years ago! My favorite part of having such a fun small local business is getting to work with families I have known almost my whole life. Seeing Emily, Andre and Lucas was one of my fall highlights. IMG_2758

C's Newborn Session- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

I was really excited for this session on a lot of levels. Lisa and I talked about what she liked and when she said her husband cut a stump for me to use, I was even more excited! I came home from work to find a giant stump in my studio and some neat weathered pallets. We used those props but also wanted some simple family portraits capturing their first few days as a family of four. C was only 5 days during this shoot and was a champ! IMG_2490

The P Family- Narragansett, RI Family Portraits

Deb wanted to make sure her family portraits reflected the place her family loves the most-- down at their family's beach house in Narragansett. We met on a *bright* sunny day and had some more traditional photos done before everyone jumped in the water and splashed away. So. much. fun!!!! The portraits of them running in the water are my faves. I love them so much, I considered having as a canvas in my own house :) IMG_6481

My summer mini sessions were a success! I was able to capture quite a few cuties on two beautiful June days. I'm so excited to share these photos of Leah. She is three and a dream to photograph! Love that hair bow too! IMG_1870

Melissa's family is soooo sweet. The girls are funny, spunky and full of energy. We did Elsa twirls, ran around, posing each way Gabriella suggested ("I've got an idea…") and tried our best to get a pony tail in the air shot (success)! I think this is the 4th time we've worked together, so it really just brings to mind how much I like seeing families year after year. I watch the kids grow and keep up with genuinely nice people. Melissa and I used to teach together but have been able to keep in touch through photography. Last summer, she contacted me to do some lifestyle newborn photos and this mama was cool as a cucumber. I went to their house the day after she got home. I remember coming home from the hospital and felt like it was just a blur, so I admired her for being so on top of things! I was excited to be back with them for Tyler's first birthday/family photos and we caught some beautiful flowers. It's pretty clear to me that Tyler adores his big sister and I think the feeling is mutual. IMG_7682

Cooper- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography, Cranston, RI Children's Photographer

Alicia is the yin to my artistic yang! She did a beautiful mural on my studio wall (which I will photograph someday soon!) We talk about art all the time, so I love being able to work with her son (who coincidentally takes art class with my son). There were a lot of outtakes from this session-- it quickly went from photos to dance party USA which gives me some hope that my taste in music isn't half bad. IMG_7205
